This will scare the Spanish out of you!
¡Hola! It’s Romina Romaniello here today. Brenda and I had a great time filming today’s Halloween Special for Hola Tuesday, your weekly Spanish lesson. So, don’t miss our Especial de Noche de Brujas – Did you know this is how we say Halloween in Spanish? Noche de Brujas means Witches’ night 🙂
I have to admit Halloween is one of my favourite parties. I think it’s the perfect time to be super creative and have fun planning your costume. Some people may find that annoying but for me it’s a lot of fun. Growing up, renting or buying costumes was a luxury we couldn’t really afford, and because not having a costume was never an option for me, I had to think outside the box and figure out a way to create my own. For Halloween I like scary costumes, more on the creepy side of things. How about you? Let us know in the comments below.
Also, por favor let us know in the comments below what you think about our costumes for this year!
Anyways, today I want to teach you some vocabulary for Halloween in Spanish:
Noche de brujas = Halloween
Brujas= witches
Hechizo = spell
Terror = horror/thriller
Araña = spider
Miedo = fear
Dulces = sweets
Fantasma = ghost
Sangre = blood
Calabaza = pumpkin

Now, are you ready to be scared? Watch our spooky Hola Tuesday lesson! In today’s lesson we’re teaching you 2 Spanish expressions/structures to talk about fear and what scares you that is very different from English. We use the verb ‘tener’ (to have) and the verb ‘dar’ (to give) for these expressions. Watch the full lesson below.
