¿Cómo estuvo tu fin de semana? A pesar de que es la última semana del verano en Sídney, este fin de semana hizo mucho calor, tuvimos temperaturas que llegaron a los 36 grados ¡Para derretirse!, así que estuvo ideal ir a la playa y tomar el sol. El sábado fue el día de San Patricio y con mis amigos salimos a beber unas cervezas para celebrar por la noche ¿Y tú? ¿Hiciste algo especial?
How was your weekend? Even though it’s the last week of summer in Sydney, this weekend was very hot, we had temperatures reaching 36 degrees (96.8 degrees F). I was melting! So, it was ideal to go to the beach and sunbathe. On Saturday it was Saint Patrick’s Day and with my friends we went out to drink beer to celebrate at night. How about you? Did you do anything special?

Una de las cosas que más me gustan de Romi es que es ¡la reina de los datos curiosos! Sin importar dónde estemos o lo que estemos hacienda, siempre encuentra la manera de compartir un dato interesante y curioso ¡Me encanta! Hace años que le vengo diciendo que tiene que escribir un libro con todos los datos curiosos que sabe… jajaja… Siempre nos reímos de eso.
One if my favorite things about Romi is that she’s the queen of random facts! No matter where we are, or what we’re doing she always manages to share weird and interesting facts. I love it! I’ve been telling her to write a book for years with all the random facts she knows… hahaha… we always laugh about it.

Con esta ola de calor, Romi compartió un dato super interesante. Aparentemente, hay más robos de casas durante el verano en comparación con el invierno porque la gente tiende a salir más de la casa en los días de calor.
With this heat wave, Romi shared with me a super interesting fact. Apparently, there are more burglaries and house break ins over summer compared to winter because people tend to go out more and leave their homes on hot days.

Estaba pensado en esto y el verbo en español es ‘ROBAR’ que significa ‘to steal’ o ‘to rob’ pero tiene una estructura diferente que la mayoría de los verbos en español porque el sujeto es desconocido y necesitamos usarlo con los pronombres de objeto indirecto.
I was thinking about this and the verb in Spanish is ‘ROBAR’, which mean both to steal and to rob but it has a different structure than most verbs in Spanish because the subject is unknown and we need to use it with the indirect object pronouns.
