Brenda here, your Hola Spanish teacher. It’s Hola Tuesday, and it’s time for your weekly free Spanish lesson.

La semana pasada fue mi cumpleaños y Romi me regaló una experiencia maravillosa el fin de semana pasado. Romi organizó pasar un fin de semana en una playa muy bonita que se llama Manly. Su regalo consistía en ir a la playa, salir a caminar y visiar el centro de cuarentena y hacer un tour de 2 horas para concocer la historia ¡Lo pasamos de maravilla!
Last week was my birthday and Romi gave me as a present a wonderful experience on the weekend. Romi organised a weekend away in a very beautiful beach called Manly. Her present consisted in going to the beach, walking and visiting a Quarantine centre and doing a 2 hour tour about its history. We had a great time!  

La mayoría de los estudiantes de español dicen tener dificultad para escuchar y comprender en español, especialmente a nativos de la lengua. Es una buena idea exponer tu oído lo más que puedas a escuchar español, aún si está de fondo por ejemplo escuchando música, una película, hasta la radio o las noticias.
Most Spanish students say they find it hard listening and understanding Spanish, especially native speakers of the language. It’s a good idea to expose your ears as much as you can to Spanish, even if it’s in the background, for example, listening to music, a movie, even the radio or the news.

La clase de hoy es para todos los niveles. En la clase de hoy vamos a practicar escuchar español. Hay 3 niveles para elegir: inicial, intermedio y avanzado, y todos tiene un reto.
Today’s class is catered for all levels. In today’s class we’ll practice listening to Spanish. There are 3 levels to choose from: beginner, intermediate and advanced, and all of them have a challenge.

In today’s listening activity:

1) Estudiantes avanzados: intenta ver el video sin leer los subtítulos.
Advanced students: try to watch the video without reading the subtitles.

2) Estudiantes intermedios: intenta ver el video y si necesitas ayuda puedes leer los subtítulos en español.
Intermediate students: Try watching the video and if you need help, you can read Spanish subtitles.

3) Estudiantes principiantes: Escuchar español por más que no entiendas es una buena idea de acostumbrar al oído. Mira la clase de hoy y puedes leer los subtítulos en inglés si lo necesitas.
Beginner students: Listening to Spanish even when you don’t understand is a great idea to get your ear to get accustomed to listening to Spanish. Watch today’s lesson and you can read the English subtitles if you need it.
