Did you know this about Enrique Iglesias?:
¡Hola a todos! Soy Romina Romaniello, tu profesora de español de Hola Spanish.
There is a lovely Filipino lady who works in a bank near our school. The first day I met her, she noticed my Spanish accent when I greeted her and ever since she doesn’t miss an opportunity to practise the few words she knows of our beautiful language. I love talking to her, she is always cheerful and with a big smile in her face. What impresses me the most about her is that she has never learnt Spanish formally, that’s probably why we speak English with a few words of Spanish here and there. The phrases and words she knows she learnt them back in The Phillipines. Did you know that country used be a Spanish colony? That´s why there are a plethora of Spanish words in Filipino language; some even say that it sounds like an Asian language pronounced with a Spanish accent!
We have much in common with the filipinos and filipinas. Even more than we realise. We even share Enrique Iglesias!!! Did you know that his mom is from The Phillipines? Yep, that’s right, he´s half Spanish and half Asian!
So, if there are any Filipinos out there reading this, go ahead and learn Spanish! It’ll be way easier for you than for most English speakers as you already know Spanish pronunciation and lots of words.
Here´s a photo of mother and son. They´re both gorgeous! And they´re both also talented and smart:
By the way, ¿Cómo se dice en español? / How do you say it in Spanish?:
