5 fun ways to learn Spanish
¡Hola! Welcome to Hola Spanish. It’s Brenda Romaniello here, your Spanish teacher.
Today we’ll talk about 5 things you can do to continue learning Spanish when you don’t feel like it.
If you’re a bit tired from studying Spanish with books, or grammar, or structure, vocabulary or memorizing. I’d like to recommend you take a break doing an activity that includes Spanish.
Today I’m going to share with you 5 activities you can do that will help you to continue to learn Spanish when you don’t really feel like it.
Fun Activity #1: ORDER FOOD IN SPANISH
You can go and eat at a local Spanish, Mexican or Latin American restaurant and order your food in Spanish. This aspect of the Spanish and Latin American culture will leave you very satisfied (literally!) and also happy that you used a bit of your Spanish.
Fun Activity #2: WATCH SPANISH MOVIES
This is a great way to passively learn Spanish. You can also go to the cinema and watch movies or a tv series exclusively in Spanish. You can use subtitles if you need them. Check out my blog with the top 5 movies you must watch here.
Fun Activity #3: SPEAK SPANISH TO YOUR FRIENDS
If you have Spanish speaking friends, that’s a great advantage. You can go out with them and practice what you know with an informal conversation. If you don’t have Spanish speaking friends, you can meet other people who are also learning Spanish and practice with them or annoy the hell out of a patient family member and speak Spanish to them!
Fun Activity #4: LISTEN TO LATIN MUSIC
Music is a great and fun way to learn a language. You can listen to Spanish or Latin music and sing along in the shower or in your house when you’re cleaning and repeat the lyrics in Spanish. There are so many structure, phrases, vocabulary and sentences you can learn by listening to Latin music.
Fun Activity #5: DANCE LATIN RHYTHMS
This activity is not only fun but also it will help you with those fitness goals of yours as well. You can go and dance salsa or merengue or go to a place where there’s Latin people and get to experience the culture a bit.
By engaging in an activity such as the ones I’ve mentioned, you’ll feel that you’re still learning Spanish but in a fun way. And this can be particularly helpful when you don’t feel like sitting still and studying Spanish with your books and grammar notes.
